Who we are
Our website address is: https://www.passport2reykjavik.com.
The information displayed on our website
The information we show on our website is as up to date as we can reasonably make it. As things change often in large cities, there may be a delay in updating relevant information. We therefore cannot be held responsible or liable for the validity of the information on our site, as it is always created to the best of our current knowledge at the time the page was created. We do our best to keep pages as up to date as possible and always welcome any help from our visitors to keep us up to date on changes they experience.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Comments
Currently visitors are not able to leave comments on specific posts but when/if this option is enabled, when visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Cookies
If (when comments are enabled) you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Affiliates
We are mainly working as an affiliate for additional income. By clicking links within our site you will be taken to third party sites. These sites provide products and services such as (but not limited) to tours, tickets, transfers and accommodation. This third party site will see which site sent them the traffic via a unique URL with identifying code within it (ie. our site) and we will receive a small commission at no extra cost to you, should you decide to go on and purchase through them. Your contract will be 100% with the company you purchase products and services through and not with Passport 2 Reykjavik. We only make recommendations and therefore hold no liability at all for any services and products being offered by external third-party companies/sites. Once you have left our site and are on the third party site, their own privacy policy and cookie policy will be in place.
Other than using cookies for analytics we do not collect data on our visitors via cookies. We have a disclaimer app when you first land on our site whereby you can choose to accept cookies or not. We currently do not use online targeted advertising but will update this page should we decide to host this on our pages at some point in the future.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information
We use analytics to help improve our site by learning where our users are coming from and how they interact with our site. We use Google Analytics for this process and do not hold or receive any personal data, only the device type used (mobile, desktop, tablet) and country of origin.
Other data we might receive would be any emails directed to us from you. We hold these email details as long as we need to help you with your query. We do not sell your data or email address but may pass it onto our affiliated companies if they are better placed to help you than us.
.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
